DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

You will be warmly welcomed upon arrival at airport in Hanoi and transferred to your hotel. You will have free time. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi city tour - Quintessence Show of Tonkin (B/L)

AM. 7.45 – 8.15. Free pick up at your hotel. Then visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum to explore the architectural and historical aspects of Uncle Ho’s final resting-place. Just next door

is Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts and lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda, which was founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049 - the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Then continue on to the Buddhist Tran Quoc Pagoda at West lake (One of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam), then visit Bat Trang pottery village (applied on Mon, Wed & Fri). Lunch at local restaurant.

PM. After lunch proceed to visit the Ethnology Museum (apply on Sun, Tue, Thu & Sat), the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam, see Vietnam’s first university, constructed in 1070 - it’s gardens and well-preserved architecture will offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. Take you past Hoan Kiem Lake to see the peaceful waters, and the beauty of Ngoc Son temple. Then you will come to enjoy Quintessence Show of Tonkin. Duration: 60 minutes - Location: Quoc Oai District, Hanoi (25km west of Central of Hanoi)

Day 3: Hanoi – Drive to Sapa (B/L)

6.30 – 7.00. Pick up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or meeting point (Hanoi Opera House), get on big bus and depart for Sapa.

9.30. Follow the highway to Lao Cai city with the first comfort break

11.00. Second comfort break at Lao Cai city before approaching Sapa

13.00. Arrive Sapa Town with colorful traditional costumes of H’mong, Dzao, Tay ethnic People. Our tour guide will inform short information to you before checking in then enjoy the set menu lunch with Vietnamese cuisine.

14.30. A short drive to the gate of Cat Cat village which is home of Black H’mong ethnic people and is located near the bottom of a deep valley at the foot of Fansipan Peak. Our local guide will show you the daily life activities of the locals, go trekking down to the valley bottom to the waterfall - Hydraulic Power Station; stop for photo with bridge and waterfall then you will walk up hill for bus to pick up to get back to Sapa in the afternoon. Trekking distance is about 2.5 kms and it lasts for 2 hours

17.00. Come back to Sapa Town. Free at leisure until 19.00 Have dinner and overnight in hotel with night activities.

Day 4: Ta Van – Lao Chai – Y Linh Ho – Sapa (B/L)

6:30 - 7:00 – Get picked up from your hotel in Hanoi to depart for Sapa via the new highway with a comfortable short break.

13:00 – Arrive at Sapa town and be amazed by the colorful traditional costumes of H’mong, Dzao, Tay ethnic people. Enjoy welcome drinks and itinerary briefing. Then, have lunch with local Vietnamese dishes before the hotel check-in.

14:15 – Take a short drive to Y Linh Ho village and then start hiking through the rice terraces along Muong Hoa Stream to Lao Chai, the village of Black H’mong minority. Here you will enjoy the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien Son mountain ranges. In the late afternoon, continue trekking to visit Ta Van village, which is the home of Tay minority. The trekking distance is about 9km and the duration is 3½ hours.

17:45 – It’s time to check into the homestay. Experience the rustic lifestyle of the local and watch the sun setting in the mountainous region. In the evening, enjoy the local bar nearby or socialize with other tourists then overnight at homestay.

Day 5: Sapa - Fansipan Peak – “the root of Indochina” by cable car – Hanoi (B/L)

8.00: After breakfast in hotel/stay, driver & tour guide take you to Cable Car Station and spend 20 minutes with cable car to enjoy the spectacular scenery.

9.00: Reach the altitute of 2800 meters, you have a good time to see the view and take photos, visit pagoda the spiritual destinations and trek up to 600 steps you will reach the peak of Fansipan - the Roof of Indochina. (Spend about 1,5 hours for hiking and taking photos).

11.00: Come back to Cable Car Station and return to Sapa town,

12.30: Have lunch in the hotel

13.30 - 15.45: Relax and discover Sapa town by yourself with some souvenirs, meet all group members at hotel to get ready for Hanoi

16.00: Get on bus to go back to Hanoi with two comfort breaks

Day 6: Hanoi - Halong Bay Cruise - Overnight on board (B/L/D)

*Hoi An Memories Show

This grand cultural performance sweeps you up and takes you on a journey. You see the town grow beginning as a small farmer’s house with his new family, then around them, Hoi An springs from the earth. The show moves through the ages portraying Hoi An’s construction, royal marriage alliances, the introduction of lanterns and trade and foreign influence.

The show itself is on a purpose-built island on the Thu Bon River. Carved from a massive triangle at the tip of the island and assembled to look like two opposing river banks in Hoi An.

Day 9: Hoi An free day (B) – Hoi An Cooking Class as optional (B)

08:30: Local guide pick up at the hotel

Go to market with our chef (about 30 minutes) by taxi.

We will have chance to see and experience the noise as well as directly contact to sellers. In addition to this, we will show the ingredients for using in our lesson. 

09:15: Tranfer to Cam Thanh village by car or boat on the way, you can explore the beautiful views of Vietnamese countryside, see the water coconut trees growing together.

11:00: Enjoy welcome drink and take a rest at our restaurant, then join cooking class. Our chef will teach you how to cook some local food. After the lesson, enjoy what you have cooked.

13:00: Return to the hotel

Day 10: Hoi An – Hue – Ancient Citadel (B/L) – (Royal Dinner optional)

Hue has many well-known places to visit, but if you have only half a day then I think you should visit two very prominent place-names as Thien Mu Pagoda and Hue Citadel.

Our guide will pick up you and start with a visit to the Imperial Citadel, which is a walled fortress and was intended to be a copy of Chinese Emperors’ Forbidden City in Beijing, China. After accessing the Ngo Mon Gate, we will take in the Purple Forbidden City. The Forbbiden City was reserved for the Nguyen royal family from the 18th century until the mid-1900s. Unfortunately, American bombing in 1968 in response to a communist takeover of Hue flattened most of the city. As we can see, only a few buildings are left such as Thai Hoa Temple, Can Thanh Temple, The Mieu, and Hieu Lam Cac, but all the remains make a well worth visit.

Leave the Imperial Citadel we drive along the bank of Huong river to Thien Mu Pagoda. Here we visit the 7-storey octagonal tower, a symbol of Hue. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel. Tour ends

Day 11: Hue City Tour by Cyclo (B/L)

Cyclo is one of the most typical vehicles that tourists often see when they travel to Vietnam. Hue cyclo tour was organized to bring you a new and interesting experience when sitting on this special vehicle and going through the city streets. Besides, this tour also helps you have a chance to explore the famous tourist destinations in Hue such as the Citadel and Dong Ba market and watch the daily life of local people. Surely, Hue cyclo tour will bring you unforgettable memories.

Your guide and cyclo will pick you up at your hotel/stay in Hue City Centre. And then go through some streets to the Imperial Citadel – The home of Vietnam’s last royal dynasty- the Nguyen Dynasty.

Continue to visit The royal Antiques Museum: A gallery of antiques displaying a collection of bronze pottery, Chinaware, Phap Lam enamel, court robes, head- gear and personal belongings of former Vietnam Emperors of Nguyen Dynasty. You again sit on your cyclo to visit Dong Ba Market – The biggest commercial center of Hue city. All of the most special cultural gifts and souvenirs can be found in Dong Ba market. Finish tour. Cyclo will bring you back to your hotel.

Day 12 Hue - Ho Chi Minh (B) – Saigon After Dark (Optional)

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh city tour & Cu Chi tunnels (B/L)

We start the trip by visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, followed by exploring the Reunification Palace, and the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum.

PM: Cu Chi Tunnels

Located 60km from HCMC, Cu Chi is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists - the network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens.

Today, ducks and water buffalos happily co-exist in the rivers along the side of the road. However, the peaceful rural rice paddy scenery belies the area’s violent history. Visitors will find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage & defoliation over this whole area, caused by bombing and mines. There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone".

Start our tour in the morning, before entering the tunnels visitors can watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. You will spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. Afterwards, enjoy tea, cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war). Return to Sai Gon.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh - Ben Tre – Can Tho (B/L)

Leave Ho Chi Minh city, enjoy the scenic journey along the way bordered by green rice fields. On arrived at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of the water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of "Southern Vietnamese folk music", performed by the locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through fruit plantations and villages.  Proceed to Can Tho. Overnight in the hotel (family home-stay with dinner can be arranged on request). Free time to visit bustling Can Tho market.

Day 15: Cai Rang Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh (B/L)

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river ( Bassac River), then proceed to visit Cai Rang floating market (& Phong Dien is optional), which are the liveliest in the whole religion.

Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only o­ne stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for lunch. Back to HCM city.

*Hoi An Memories Show

This grand cultural performance sweeps you up and takes you on a journey. You see the town grow beginning as a small farmer’s house with his new family, then around them, Hoi An springs from the earth. The show moves through the ages portraying Hoi An’s construction, royal marriage alliances, the introduction of lanterns and trade and foreign influence.

The show itself is on a purpose-built island on the Thu Bon River. Carved from a massive triangle at the tip of the island and assembled to look like two opposing river banks in Hoi An.

08:30: Local guide pick up at the hotel

Go to market with our chef (about 30 minutes) by taxi.

We will have chance to see and experience the noise as well as directly contact to sellers. In addition to this, we will show the ingredients for using in our lesson. 

09:15: Tranfer to Cam Thanh village by car or boat on the way, you can explore the beautiful views of Vietnamese countryside, see the water coconut trees growing together.

11:00: Enjoy welcome drink and take a rest at our restaurant, then join cooking class. Our chef will teach you how to cook some local food. After the lesson, enjoy what you have cooked.

13:00: Return to the hotel

Cyclo is one of the most typical vehicles that tourists often see when they travel to Vietnam. Hue cyclo tour was organized to bring you a new and interesting experience when sitting on this special vehicle and going through the city streets. Besides, this tour also helps you have a chance to explore the famous tourist destinations in Hue such as the Citadel and Dong Ba market and watch the daily life of local people. Surely, Hue cyclo tour will bring you unforgettable memories. Your guide and cyclo will pick you up at your hotel/stay in Hue City Centre. And then go through some streets to the Imperial Citadel – The home of Vietnam’s last royal dynasty- the Nguyen Dynasty.

Continue to visit The royal Antiques Museum: A gallery of antiques displaying a collection of bronze pottery, Chinaware, Phap Lam enamel, court robes, head- gear and personal belongings of former Vietnam Emperors of Nguyen Dynasty. You again sit on your cyclo to visit Dong Ba Market – The biggest commercial center of Hue city. All of the most special cultural gifts and souvenirs can be found in Dong Ba market. Finish tour. Cyclo will bring you back to your hotel.

AM: HCM City

We start the trip by visiting Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office, followed by exploring the Reunification Palace, and the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum.

PM: Cu Chi Tunnels

Located 60km from HCMC, Cu Chi is now a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists - the network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens.

Today, ducks and water buffalos happily co-exist in the rivers along the side of the road. However, the peaceful rural rice paddy scenery belies the area’s violent history. Visitors will find it hard to imagine the destruction, damage & defoliation over this whole area, caused by bombing and mines. There is plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960s when Cu Chi was a "Free Target Zone".

Start our tour in the morning, before entering the tunnels visitors can watch a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed. You will spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. Afterwards, enjoy tea, cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war). Return to Sai Gon.

Leave Ho Chi Minh city, enjoy the scenic journey along the way bordered by green rice fields. On arrived at My Tho, visit Vinh Trang pagoda, take a leisurely boat ride along the river, view stilt houses, fruit plantations and fishing villages along the river bank. Proceed to Tortoise islet, have lunch in the orchard garden. Then a boat ride to An Khanh – a less touristy attraction in Ben Tre, enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of the water coconut trees along natural canals, then enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of "Southern Vietnamese folk music", performed by the locals. Visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle, taste delicious coconut candy & observe the pastoral life as you roam through fruit plantations and villages.  Proceed to Can Tho. Overnight in the hotel (family home-stay with dinner can be arranged on request). Free time to visit bustling Can Tho market.

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river ( Bassac River), then proceed to visit Cai Rang floating market (& Phong Dien is optional), which are the liveliest in the whole religion. Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only o­ne stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for lunch. Back to HCM city.

Breakfast at hotel, then free until transfer to the airport. Overnight at hotel on Phu Quoc island.
